Job Description:

The PSO defines the standards and the strategy to ensure EMC delivers secure products with differentiated security capabilities. The PSO is a stakeholder of EMC-wide overall security and risk governance structure with a focus on minimizing the security risks created by our products for our customers with a focus in the following areas:

  • Product security engineering: Vulnerability response handling, security development lifecycle implementation, coordination of security certifications and development of common software security components and toolkits leveraging the RSA technology.

  • Supply chain risk management: Mitigating risks of sourcing and delivery counterfeit or maliciously tainted components in our products

  • R&D systems protection: Definition of the security practices required to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the product code during product development.

The PSO also leads EMC’s engagement with the rest of the industry on product security including government organizations to ensure the development of commercially reasonable industry standards and practices that protect customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technical Program Manager is part of the team having responsibility for the EMC Product Security Response Center (http://www.emc.com/contact-us/contact/product-security-response-center.htm). The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of various programs within the Product Security Response Center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with defined tools and technical resources to monitor and gather vulnerability alerts and reports impacting EMC products

  • Work with engineering and support organizations to triage vulnerability reports and determine the impact on EMC products

  • Must be able to communicate the nature and severity of the vulnerability by coordinating with technical advisors on the team

  • Manage and drive vulnerabilities to resolution working with cross-functional teams

  • Coordinate communication of vulnerability impact and remedy information to customers

  • Define and report program roadmap, status, development issues and success metrics

  • Manage against defined process timelines and requirements

  • Ensure completion of all specific deliverables and tactical initiatives required to support programs

  • Identify, escalate and ensure resolution of issues impacting successful execution of programs

  • Drive consistency and standardization of defined process

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement

  • Work and collaborate with other members of the EMC Product Security Office to develop tools and services for the rollout of secure product development at EMC

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree (technical)

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Exposure to general application and information security concepts

  • Ability to dialogue with engineering at a reasonable level of technical depth

  • Experience with software development activities

  • Ability to prioritize projects, tasks and deliverables and manage dynamic priorities

  • Strong analytical, process management and reporting skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
