Role Overview

This role will work in a state of the art Business Security Operations Center (BSOC). The BSOC is responsible for monitoring real time information, discovering and analyzing security events, recommending remediation paths, and escalating security events. T he SIEM Engineer will support the Customer’s Information Security Group by configuring and monitoring the Log Aggregation Platform.

Key Responsibilities: - Collect security log data from the client’s systems and applications - Conduct security analysis of the collected log data, and generate reports - Develop security alerts based on threat and security baseline. - Produce standard procedures for log collection, analysis and reporting/alerting. - Prioritize investigation of anomalies and communicate/escalate issues, concerns, including higher risk anomalies to the IT department and Information Security in clear, concise and risk-based language. - Assist manager in periodically reviewing standard operation procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and risk focused.

/As a managed security provider, SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned./

Essential Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with minimum 1-3 years’ experience.
    • Experience with network platforms and Linux/Unix OS platforms
  • Good general knowledge around security concepts -E xperience using security monitoring tools, such as ArcSight SIEM or Logger, Splunk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong technical skill.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate applicable requirements and respond with quality technical specifications and solutions.

    Desirable Requirements:

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar security monitoring role
  • General security certifications like CompTIA Security , SSCP, CISSP, etc.
