Job Description:

As a DELLEMC Consultant, the individual will Lead and participate in the design, development, customization and deployment of software applications to support DELLEMC cloud business and IT transformation practices. must demonstrate an enthusiasm and drive for self-development and to become a highly regarded team member. The ideal candidate will be a proven professional with ability to develop, integrate and test workflows, possess excellent technical credentials while demonstrating a consultative approach in helping identify and solving customer’s problems. The primary responsibility will be performing both a delivery function and acting as solutions SME in our automation practice.

Responsibilities:

Post Sales:

  • Understand, collect, propose, and communicate requirements to all solution stakeholders (internal and external).

  • Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning Automation solutions.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for automation and orchestration, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members.

  • Design and implementing data center automation frameworks and flow models for automating processes.

  • Develop specifications and test criteria for workflows that will automate process.

  • Identify, architect, design, and implement new automation workflows to handle various facets of IT System Management and Administration consisting of but not limited to virtual environment(s) creation and decommission, data validation procedures and integration with Web front-end UI’s, Network Tier, Storage & Compute Tier using API and WSDL calls.

  • Supports the existing Automation Portals, provisioning scripts. Identify the automation orchestration related opportunities throughout the organization

  • Lead development of Java based Infrastructure Self-service Portals with a team of Developers, Engineers and Architects.

  • Create Automation solutions using VMware technologies, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic and SOA.

  • Role will be accountable for working multiple internal departments to in delivering enterprise automation solutions.

  • Collaborate with development teams for develops Infrastructure web applications using COTS products or JSP, Servlet and XML.

  • Develop documentation for automation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.

  • Acquire and maintain expert level knowledge in two or more areas such as data center, campus/end-user, hyper-converged.

Pre-sales assistance as needed:

  • Conduct POCs to demo new ideas and help solidify technical direction.

  • Assist Solution Architects in creating Statements of Work as an automation SME as needed.

  • Lead “As-is / To-be” consulting workshops with customers to support strategic opportunities as needed.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architects, and other technical domain SMEs on our most strategic pursuits to generate proposals and/or SOWs.

Readiness to travel 50 - 70% annually ((based on project requirements).

Critical Hiring Criteria:

  • Typically has 10+ years related experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in Deployment, Systems Integration, or Consulting role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.

  • Excellent scripting skills (Example: shell scripts and bladelogic).

  • Excellent knowledge of vRealize Automation and vRealize orchestrator creating workflows.

  • Experience and knowledge in creating Blueprints, publishing catalogs, creating and configuring VRO/workflows, vRO configurations/integration with external systems/3rd party tools such as Infoblox ServiceNow.

  • Experience with managing, supporting and integrating various DBMS such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL or Informix.

  • Coding experience in Java, JSP, Servlet, J2EE and Java Script.

  • Knowledge in chef, puppet other similar tools.

  • Familiarity with Virtualization products and solutions.

  • Understanding of Cloud Concepts and services.

  • Experience with IT solutions, compute, storage, network theory, design and architecture.

  • Understanding of modern IT datacenter practices and IT business operations across the ITIL service lifecycle.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A VMware VCP (or higher) would be highly regarded.

Preferences:

  • Knowledge and development skills in Service Now.

  • Development of vRealize Automation (VRA), VCloud air, SharePoint, Industry Cloud automation orchestration tools is a plus.

  • Knowledge in other VMWare technologies.

  • Expert in web technologies such as Java, Struts and MVC frameworks.

  • In depth understanding of industry best practices, legacy browser challenges and emerging technologies

  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with a current automation language / technology, such as Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting, RESTful API’s, Microsoft .Net languages, Java etc.
