Job Description:

General Summary:

The Competitive Intelligence Consultant is responsible for understanding the market dynamics and key competitors’ for Dell EMC Services offerings and capabilities, and developing detailed competitive analysis and positioning for executive guidance, offer development and sales enablement.

Candidates should have a proven track record of success in providing competitive outlook and rapid response analysis for executive level consumption, and experience in working with external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed competitive analysis, positioning, scorecards, and content to help drive executive decisions.

  • Uncover competitive trends, strategies, threats and opportunities via research. Analyze and provide guidance.

  • Provide input to internal communications platforms, newsletters, forums, training events, and other internal vehicles, as well as leveraging external information sharing tools.

  • Identify and communicate “no spin” vulnerabilities and gaps in current and future services offerings.

  • Engage with other Dell EMC groups cross-functionally to centralize competitive knowledge base.

  • Provide competitive support to offer development, pricing, and portfolio operations. .

  • Provide competitive support for strategic deals.

  • Develop process for collecting competitive intelligence from sales engagements.

  • Track and report competitive statistics.

  • Maintain high ethical standards regarding treatment of proprietary and sensitive information, customer information, and protection of Dell EMC intellectual property.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment – coordinating multiple projects and able to deliver on deadlines

  • Experience conducting competitive/market intelligence with high tech companies required; experience with the IT services industry preferred.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Analytical and strategic assessment ability.

  • Understanding of external competitive environment dynamics.

  • Communication skills and ability to form internal alliances and relationships.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business environment.

  • Experience designing primary research studies, interview guides and information repositories.

Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience
