Dell Associate Systems Engineer I in Lisle, Illinois

Job Description:

  • Provides technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities in the assigned market.

  • Assists in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions.

  • Makes technical and sales presentations. Understands EMC and competitive technology and business applications within the assigned market.

  • May assist in the development of responses to customer requests and proposals as required.

  • Conducts research, answers questions and removes objections that arise in a sales campaign.

  • Assists the Sales Team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies, produce account specific product and service and sales plans.

  • Develops relationships with the account team, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives

  • Configures and documents EMC software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives. Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 1-2 yrs of enterprise systems engineering and/or pre-sales experience, be self-motivated highly energetic, with a strong hands-on, “can do” approach.

  • Strong written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to discuss technical concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • A high level of business acumen

  • 1+ years of virtualization infrastructure

  • Knowledge of Linux / Unix systems

  • 1+ years experience in software development, preferably enterprise applications using Java / Spring

  • Experience with production systems and dealing with production issues

  • An understanding of cloud service and deployment models
