Our cloud-native platform and suite of data tools drive software innovation for many of the world’s most admired brands, helping enterprises move at start-up speeds and with greater business agility. Our methodology is about evolving, in both development and innovation, and our culture is empowering. Our 2,000+ employees across offices worldwide subscribe to an ethos of kindness. We make a point to bring empathy to each and every project, and are guided by a purposeful mission—to transform how the world builds software.
You have a passion for communications. You are someone who can write and edit well, manage editorial content and calendars, has experience with social tools, and preferably the Google Suite. You are interested in in pursuing creative ways and tools to help leaders and teams collaborate and connect. You are aware of the transformative power of software and the role it’s playing in reshaping entire industries.
The Communications Team at Pivotal is a creative group ranging from media strategists, filmmakers, speechwriters, copywriters, and it’s our responsibility to ensure that Pivotal’s voice stands out in a crowded marketplace and that communications in all of its forms create a compelling employee experience. We create and launch campaigns and content that elevate Pivotal’s brand, help employees connect and stay informed, and pitch journalists and influencers to tell compelling stories. Internal communications helps define how Pivotal leaders and peers interact with each other, and shapes the aspirations and perceptions of Pivots around the globe.
A typical day in our organization is challenging, unpredictable and rewarding. No single day will be the same as the previous one, but we expect you to:
Manage Internal Communications and Channels—We want your creative ideas and help on internal campaigns using our current intranet, and potentially help us manage the launch a new collaboration tool. This will range from finding the right daily headlines to feature on the intranet, to administering the intranet site, coordinating content and an editorial calendar for our newsletter, to helping teams or executives and leaders find creative and effective ways to communicate and share.
Editorial—You'll help edit and curate content and come up with creative ideas for a variety of internal communications. It means cutting your teeth editing executive communications, getting in tune with Pivotal conversations on #slack, Pivotalk (a 'big ideas' internal collaboration tool), formulating stories, and occasionally writing stories yourself. We may ask you to work with any number of Pivots across our 20 office locations to edit articles, and help produce podcasts or video.
Video / Audio / Social—You may be asked to do some video or audio production/editing. This might mean taking an 30-minute talk or Q&A and distilling it down to a two-minute story for sharing on one of our internal channels. It may mean making quick, Instagram-type videos about a new office opening or a Diversity & Inclusion initiative. Regardless, we’re hoping for someone familiar with non-linear story-telling and formats, who enjoys the process of editing and making engaging clips.

Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
