Dell Consultant, Tech Program Mgmt in Santa Clara, California
DELL EMC currently has an exciting opportunity open for a Consultant Technical Programs Manager in our Santa Clara, CA facility working on the industry leading purpose built backup appliance software. In this role you will be responsible for driving the program execution, delivery, and quality across the Agile team. You will apply your knowledge of software development functional program and Agile methodologies across areas including quality, engineering, product management, and support to plan and guide the design and delivery of sophisticated software products.
--Responsible for the program execution, delivery and quality across a team of developers
--Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, sprint/release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
--Be able to drive consensus across highly skilled staff to ensure design, quality and delivery is not compromised
--Responsible for scrum and agile excellence
--Facilitate technical discussions across the organization to resolve conflicts and reach collaborative decisions, remove impediments, and empower the team to self-organize.
--Lead and/or coordinate multiple strategic cross-functional teams.
--Influence and ensure execution of continuous improvement of product/solution development lifecycle processes and best practices.
--Champion programs/projects that affect long range goals and objectives.
Skills, knowledge, and experience that would make you a good fit:
--Must be able to drive clarity through ambiguous and complex dependencies, architectural challenges, recommend alternatives to ensure aggressive timelines are met
--Balance business needs with technical constraints without compromising customer value
--Exceptional project management skills–planning, governance, program tracking, issue/risk management.
- Identify big rocks, dependencies, pre and post launch challenges early, manage & mitigate risks, provide timely escalation management and reporting, encourage responsible risk taking to maximize business benefit
--Be extremely data driven and drive/track program execution and delivery excellence
--Proven knowledge of engineering operations and software product lifecycle process, tools and metrics.
--Strong leadership skills—ability to manage people, tasks, and resources at multiple levels of the organization and in a dynamic environment. It is critical to be able to effectively manage conflict and influence without direct authority.
--Experience working with remote product delivery teams.
--BS in Computer Science or related field.
