Dell Sr Advisor, Tech Program Mgmt in Santa Clara, California

Job Description:

DELL EMC currently has an exciting opportunity open for a Sr. Advisor, Technical Program Manager in our Santa Clara, CA facility working on the industry leading purpose built backup appliance software. In this role you will be assisting in driving the program execution, delivery, and quality across the Agile team. You will apply your knowledge of software development functional program and Agile methodologies across areas including quality, engineering, product management, and support to plan and guide the design and delivery of sophisticated software products.

Position Overview:

--Program execution, delivery and quality across a team of developers

--Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, sprint/release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.

--Responsible for scrum and agile excellence

--Participate in technical discussions across the organization to resolve conflicts and reach collaborative decisions, remove impediments, and empower the team to self-organize.

--Influence and ensure execution of continuous improvement of product/solution development lifecycle processes and best practices.

--Champion programs/projects that affect long range goals and objectives.

Required and Desired Skills:

-Present, communicate, and ability to influence LOB business leaders.

-Lead multiple high visibility programs moderately complex in nature (technology, organizationally).

-Lead/develop department level or moderately complex process initiatives or business strategy.

--Must be able to drive clarity through ambiguous and complex dependencies, architectural challenges, recommend alternatives to ensure aggressive timelines are met

--Balance business needs with technical constraints without compromising customer value

--Exceptional project management skills–planning, governance, program tracking, issue/risk management.

  • Identify big rocks, dependencies, pre and post launch challenges early, manage & mitigate risks, provide timely escalation management and reporting, encourage responsible risk taking to maximize business benefit

--Be extremely data driven and drive/track program execution and delivery excellence

--Proven knowledge of engineering operations and software product lifecycle process, tools and metrics.

--Experience working with remote product delivery teams.

--BS in Computer Science or related field.
