Quality is everything at Dell. It’s what we’re known for and we build it into all our processes. In Quality Engineering we play a central role by developing, implementing as well as maintaining technical quality assurance and control systems. We look for ways to improve the inspection, verification and validation of our finished products. Our team defines strategy – not to mention governance – for the implementation of quality standards and methodology. In addition to participating in the review of engineering designs, we assist customers or engineers in gathering and analyzing data.
Leads and manages the Operations Quality team. Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group. Manages the hiring, staffing, and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce. Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members. Provides managerial leadership, coaching/feedback, and development for team members and business partners. Manages lower level leaders and multiple teams
Develops the quality control/assurance systems and processes for the factory. Establishes and manages processes and standards for the quality team
Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and goals, monitors quality performance KPIs, and drives KPIs to meet goals. Identifies issues and drives corrective and preventive actions
Develops strategic direction for the group
Makes recommendations and regularly presents to executive management
Directs, implements, and coordinates cross-functionally to manage and drive high impact projects and initiatives that impact all of the operations quality function
14+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
7+ years managerial/leadership experience
Strong and proven track record of leading and developing teams, creating strategies, providing thought leadership, and driving cross-functional efforts in change management
Strong executive-level written and oral communication skills. Ability to present clear and concise information to team, internal customers, and external customers
Ability to lead and influence global extended teams and meet deadlines. Facilitation skills, cross-functional agility, business and financial acumen to lead global cross-functional efforts
Insight and skill to effectively build, lead, and develop diverse and effective teams
Working knowledge of Quality Assurance, Management, and compliance tools is highly desirable. Understanding of industry trends and practices with regards to quality management
