Provides technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities in the assigned market. Assists in the analysis, design and development of fully integrated technology solutions. Technical emphasis is on hardware capabilities, software requirements and systems integration. May assist in the development of responses to customer requests and proposals as required. Applicable markets: Enterprise, Commercial, Partner, Specialist/Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs a support role in District Sales and Services Leadership meetings.

  • Presents and markets the design and value of proposed DELL EMC solution and business case to customers, prospects and DELL EMC management. Possesses detailed product/technology/industry knowledge. Knowledge of job associated software and applications. DELL EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

  • Assists the Sales Team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies, produce account specific product and service and sales plans. Leverages knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to DELL EMC solutions, and train the account team.

  • Executes technical sales calls.

  • Configures and documents DELL EMC data protection software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives. Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately. This includes detailed RFP technical responses, internal and external dependencies (e.g. partner tasks), professional services statements of work, project plans and technology support documentation.

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding.

  • Drives technical demonstrations of the DPS solution as well as onsite/offsite proofs of concept (POCs)

Essential Requirements

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Focused on supporting customer initiatives related to data protection requirements and solutions

  • Knowledge of DELL EMC data protection solutions portfolio as well as 3rd party data protection solutions. This includes Data Domain, Avamar, NetWorker, DELL EMC DLM, Data Protection Advisor (DPA).

  • Specialized Knowledge in one or more of the following applications: NetBackup, Commvault, VEEAM, Spectrum Protect, Rubrik, Cohesity

  • Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, ATM, FCoE architecture, VTL, NDMP, CIFS and NFS storage protocols.

  • Knowledge of VMWare & virtualization use cases and productivity applications. UNIX and/or Linux knowledge including system administration, network administration, debugging and troubleshooting is desirable

  • Can present on the DELL EMC DPS solution and deliver the value proposition.

  • Technical concepts needed to understand value/benefit of product

  • A minimum of 5 years of technical pre-sales domain experience ideally in data protection solutions

  • Domain Knowledge of Big Data, Hadoop, AI/ML, compute technologies and process automation technologies is highly desirable

  • Exposure on Industry specific technologies (pertaining to Oil/Gas, Banking, Telco etc.) is highly desirable
