What you’ll achieve

As a Public Relations Consultant dedicated to our corporate Security, Privacy and Ethics organizations, you will be part of a team that plays a strategic role in promoting and protecting Dell’s reputation. If you are creative, curious and fascinated by the global privacy and cybersecurity landscape and love telling corporate stories and engaging with media and influencers, this could be the ideal role for you!

You will:

  • Identify, develop and execute proactive security and privacy stories sourced from a range of different internal teams and businesses units.

  • Take a story idea from concept to execution and position so it considers reputational risks and context of current media news cycle and landscape

  • Promote and protect Dell’s reputation as a trusted company, partner and citizen around the globe.

  • Manage media relationships, corporate talking points, FAQs associated with Security, Privacy and ethics.

  • Work collaboratively with Product Public Relations, Executive and Internal Communications, Community Relations, Government Affairs, Chief Security Officer, Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer, Analyst Relations and Social Media for overall programming and consistency of message

Essential Requirements

  • 10 years of media relations, public affairs or public relations experience with at least 4 years experience working with a security or enterprise technology company

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Public Affairs or related field

  • Existing relationships with journalists at security and technology focused media outlets*

  • Excellent writing skills across a wide range of deliverables; from traditional PR to blogs to contributed content

  • Passion for creative storytelling, written and verbal communications

  • Strong understanding of key trends driving business in security and understanding of the regulatory and policy landscape impacting technology

  • Understanding of and experience with various social media platforms

  • Able to partner with diverse range of stakeholders, industry peers, partners, colleagues and outside agencies to drive and amplify strategic stories with media

  • Experience identifying and measuring communications metrics
