Principal Engineer Networking Core, APEX Engineering - US Remote
Can be located anywhere in the USA but must already reside in the USA
As a principal engineer working with APEX engineering teams, you will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and administration of our lab infrastructure networks and storage. This position requires additional focus on network and data storage as well as supporting the needs of large-scale automation.
You will evaluate new technologies and help architect future solutions in support of our rapidly scaling lab infrastructure.

What you’ll achieve
As a principal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to design and develop highly scalable network solutions and aaS environments
Improve overall network optimization and efficiency through tuning network links and other methods
Own the documentation and artifact creation against networking deliverables
Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies

BS or equivalent
8 to 10 years of related experience
Experience with virtualization clustering (VMWare, vCenter, vSAN, NSX).
Experience with administration of storage architectures (Dell/EMC PowerStore, PowerScale)
Mastery of networking topologies LAN/WAN/MAN (BGP, VLT/VPC, OSPF)
Mastery of networking and infrastructure protocols such as DNS, DHCP, ACLs, VLAN
Experience with test automation frameworks
Experience with Linux-based administration
Debugging and troubleshooting skills to solve complex network problems
Scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc.
Willingness to expand/mature personal skillset and toolset against deliverables as needed
MS degree in a related field or equivalent
10 to 15 years of related experience
Enterprise scale infrastructures
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps
Experience with log and/or monitoring aggregation tools like Splunk, Datadog
Kubernetes, Docker, Docker-Swarm
Knowledge of various storage formats: Block, File, & Object storage
Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCIE, CISSP)
