Senior Splunk Engineer

Be a part of the SRE team that ensures Dell Technologies' product integrity and customer satisfaction. Our Site Reliability Engineering team is passionate about building software that solves problems. We count on our site reliability engineers (SREs) to empower our users with high availability, and stellar performance level to pursue their missions. As we expand our SRE footprint to cater to Dell Digital, we are currently seeking experienced Splunk engineers who bring fresh ideas, demonstrate a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoy collaborating with a cross-functional teams to develop positive user experiences at every interaction.

What you’ll achieve

You will create monitoring and auto healing tools and solutions for ensuring uptime of mission critical applications using the most sophisticated technologies, software engineering methodologies and partnerships.

You will:

  • Apply your knowledge of Splunk search processing language (SPL), reporting, dashboards, and search acceleration techniques.

  • Embrace full scale automation and will continuously be on the lookout for solving operational problems with an engineering mindset.

  • Enhance your data mindset to understand trends, anomalies, thresholds and produce root cause analysis for critical problems

  • Build tools to Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions

  • Work with real-time datasets to produce data decision making solutions.

  • Consume a disparate set of Internal and External APIs and output a dynamic set of processed payloads for a wide variety of subscribers.

  • Partner and collaborate with development teams to improve services, participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of total development experience and a minimum of 3+ years of Splunk development experience. This is not a Splunk Admin Role.

  • Experience with Splunk ITSI, creating Services, KPIs, Service Templates, Threshold templates and designing Glass tables, Splunk REST APIs and programmatically accessing and manipulating knowledge objects.

  • Experience with Python Programming language

  • Experience in SPL, writing highly complex and performant queries; experience building multi-level drilldown dashboards.

  • Monitoring automation and auto healing mindset.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge / Experience on Python AI/ML or experience working across the web stack with python frameworks and JavaScript front end frameworks, a plus.

  • Exposure to Splunk Phantom or any other orchestration and automation frameworks a plus.
