Sr. Principal Automation Software Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As a Principal Engineer on the team you will design and develop applications with a focus on automating systems and processes. You will work with the Automation Engineering team to identify opportunities automation within software processes, database, and infrastructure.

You will:

  • Work with a talented group of developers, architects, product owners, to deliver innovative, high quality products and solutions on a foundation of architectural excellence.

  • Develop high quality code that will bring automation across several disciplines of our Dell Digital organization.

  • Use Agile & modern software development practices including automated unit testing, automated integration testing, DevOps, IaaC, CICD and other practices.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in object-oriented programming & concepts. Experience in .NET (experience with .NET core would be a plus), C# programming language OR Java programming and J2EE technologies skills

  • Experience with automated tests, including automated unit testing, functional testing and integration testing. Experience with TDD and BDD disciplines would be a plus.

  • Experience with database and SQL

  • Experience in implementing RESTful APIs, microservices and Design Patterns

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with other programming languages such as Java & Python

  • Experience with open source logging and reporting solutions (Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Splunk)
