Role Overview

People manager job leading a team of external, customer-facing project managers, program managers, or other project management office staff. Responsible for overseeing portfolio governance, portfolio management, resource management (i.e. capital requirements and human capital), quality management, and project management services that meet or exceed a customers' expectations to complete a portfolio of projects on time, within scope, and on budget for both internal capability development and product launches.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with internal clients. Work collaboratively across functions, including IT, product management and operations to pipeline and prioritize project management resources in alignment with the company’s strategic and financial priorities

  • Develop and staff a team with the skill sets to guide both product launch and capabilities development project s. Manage the hiring, staffing and maintaining of an effective workforce, which includes career development, performance management, and pay management for team members

  • Bring industry leading best PMO practices to the attention of the team for innovative application in the current business

  • Drive definition and closure of project requirements, project plans/schedules, and resource needs with stakeholders and within team resources, ensuring scope matches value and delivery

  • Ensure that all project managers consistently adhere to the Secureworks standard project management methodology throughout the project lifecycle, and support the auditing of process and procedures with the Internal Audit function

  • Ensures critical outcomes are met for each project, program and/or portfolio for which they are responsible, or their staff is responsible

  • Understands the links and dependencies between the projects and other in-flight projects and/or business initiatives

  • Applies influence and negotiation skills to drive business results. Collaborates with key stakeholders both internal-and external

  • Demonstrates expert ability to articulate the typical components of an effective project management information system: understands and has proficiency in the specific tools that are available and required as part of the Secureworks project management Manage the annual spend and development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the GPMO department

Requirements

  • Master of Business Administration desired

  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical discipline required

  • 5-10 years of progressive experience managing large scale programs, projects and PMO organizations

  • Proven leadership of teams of senior individual contributors

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong written, communications, problem solving skills

  • Ability to manage tactically and drive a strategy at the same time

  • PMP or PMI certifications
