Role Overview

As a Principal Software Quality Tester/Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of an exciting new product development initiative. You will be responsible for designing, creating and managing automated software testing harnesses in a multi-platform environment using cutting-edge technology, including Cloud services. We protect our customers by disrupting attacker tradecraft so we can deny them access to the networks we protect. This is a challenging and also very rewarding position where interesting projects in security are implemented in order to protect our clients from Internet intrusions.

The ideal applicant must have strong communication skills, solid analytical and problem solving skills and in-depth knowledge of the software manual and automated testing best practices. Applicant must be highly motivated and willing to work in a team environment with very talented individuals on complex, early-stage development projects.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and manage software automated testing strategy and harnesses from inception

  • Perform automation software testing to ensure code quality

  • Work closely with software engineers and architects to ensure complete and accurate software testing

  • Evaluate new software testing technologies for appropriateness

  • Work with TFS or GIT and other development automated build and code repository frameworks

  • Work with developers to identify, track and fix bugs

  • Perform software testing in an Agile/SCRUM environment

As a managed security provider, Secureworks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in designing and developing Quality Automation Frameworks and Quality Assurance

  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with Hadoop distributions such as MapR, Hortonworks, Cloudera or similar solutions

  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with containers and container orchestration solutions, such as Kubernetes

  • Five (5) or more years of experience working with Angular, Node JS or similar technologies and automating user interface testing

  • Five (5) or more years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Five (5) or more years of experience utilizing automation frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine framework and Carmine test runner, and/or SoapUI

  • Experience writing automation scripts in Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and working in team environments

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience developing Quality Automation Frameworks from inception in entrepreneurial or startup environments

  • Experience with TFS or GIT and other development automated build and code repository frameworks

  • Experience with working on Agile/Scrum teams

  • Experience testing and running automation of Cloud-based application

  • Knowledge of software security best practices and testing for security flaws
