Business Planning Consultant

We also oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. What you’ll achieve
The candidate is responsible for partnering with product leaders, business leaders, technology leaders, and other stakeholders to lead and champion the development of a comprehensive MCSG business and financial plan which includes long term business mix evolution, annual planning and offering success tracking (KPI’s, revenue, costs and more). The ideal candidate will bring a balanced set of skills such as: influence, strategic thinking, diverse communication, business case creation, project planning, financial planning, Dell financial acumen and project execution. This person will partner with the Engineering, Product, and Business Leaders to identify ways to improve our offer/ software profitability while growing our top line revenue and margin profile for a suite of new offers. The candidate will be a critical piece of the MCSG Planning Leadership team as he or she will bring everyone together to collaboratively create and modify the annual operating plan while running normal monthly business reviews and other sessions to really dig into the business that we are running.
Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)
Lead and manage the full annual planning process including bottoms up investment needs while working with Dell finance to align with their annual planning requirements and hiring plans.
Translate cross team requirements into a full financial plan
Work with the Executive Team to identify and prioritize new strategic elements of a business case
Provide regular updates to the executive teams on the progress towards targets and KPI's
Establish strong relationships with a key group of our internal and external stakeholders to foster ongoing, two-way communication (Finance, MCSG leaders, EIG, Services and others)
Partner with finance and other stakeholders to track and monitor progress vs. plan
Develop and partner with stakeholders in driving business cases for products/ other activities
Champion continuous process improvements within the Product, Marketing, and leadership teams to both grow and develop team members and to drive greater efficiencies in the product delivery pipeline
Manage, provide ongoing mentoring and oversight for others on the team so that everyone understands and appreciates the role of the software strategy and how we build our business cases for each offer/product/feature and service.
Partner with technology and business leaders to ensure the Product Roadmaps support business objectives and initiatives
Work with product marketing to understand launch plans as they relate to the overall software strategy and execution costs.
Track and achieve revenue and margin objectives with measurable sales impact, client differentiation and customer and stakeholder reception.

8+ years of experience in a Product Management or Business Management
5+ years running P&L's or other business processes
Superb at mentoring and leading by influence
Product management experience with SaaS, cloud, subscription-based enterprise software a plus
Proven financial acumen and business understanding
Experience managing solutions that include SaaS Software, professional services, and managed services offerings
Beyond exceptional presentation skills (creating and delivering)
Executive presence able to present comfortable to senior execs at Dell and at key customers
Ability to develop, define, keep updated, and convince others on team and cross-org/execs of your strategy.
Someone who loves working in start-up mode (go fast and fail fast), while also being happy in a big corporate environment (albeit a great environment to work in, one without a lot of politics)
Super positive and optimistic. High energy. Inspirational. Natural-born leader.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to articulate ideas very well.
Able to partner closely with and lead teams across multiple organizations including engineering, experience design, marketing, sales, procurement, operations, etc.
People-person great at forging relationships
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities
Able to put a business lens on new ideas to determine quickly if they have a change at generating significant revenue
Ability to negotiate internally and externally
Ability to build and drive plan to take offers from no revenue to $1b in short order
Super responsible, self-starter, independent, reliable, consistent.
Up to 15% travel may be required
Pragmatic Marketing training a plus
MBA a plus
