Transformation Program Management is a worldwide team that’s vital to the ongoing evolution of Dell. It has an impact on users, processes, technology and organisational change in business units right across the company. We lead on global, enterprise-wide, foundation programs, often valued above $50M, that use the Engineering Program Management protocol. It’s all about using strong technical knowledge and identifying industry best practices to enrich program solutions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Leads a cross-functional, pan-Dell, worldwide core team through the program definition/ requirements to set the program expectations, benefits and timing. This includes defining stakeholders, key resources, and tool/process needs. To define the program, usually requires a strong technical knowledge across multiple Dell functions, tools and processes to capture the current “as is” state as well as the desired future state. Often includes benchmarking across one or multiple industries to identify industry best practices and incorporate them into the proposed program solutions. Program often includes IT investments larger than $50M and/or large organizational change: -Impacting > 1000 users -Transforming > 20 roles (new job descriptions) -Spanning 9 process lifecycles & 8 work streams, inclusive of technology, org change management, tax, security and controls, etc. -Transforming multiple Dell Business units (Client/End User, Enterprise Solution, Dell Software, Services)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typically responsible for large, highly complex programs or potentially a portfolio of programs. programs. Often includes IT investments larger than $50M and/or large organizational change: -Impacting > 1000 users -Transforming > 20 roles (new job descriptions) - Spanning 9 process lifecycles & 8 work streams, inclusive of technology, org change management, tax, security and controls, etc. Impact is on multiple functions or processes and typically has global, pan-Dell impact, Leads efforts to transform regional, legacy Dell process to global, industry-standard base design points, with exceptions made for local legal requirements and Dell differentiation aligned with core corporate strategic objectives Typically has matrix-management budget responsibility around achieving a program’s benefits/value and staying within approved budget Uses advanced change management practices to influence groups to align to Dell’s overall objectives Cross-Lifecycle (Strategy to Launch, Market to Quote, Order to Delivery to Cash, Plan to Manufacture, Procure to Pay, Service Delivery Management, Issue to Prevention, Account to Report, Talent Lifecycle) Cross-Work stream (Architecture, Reporting/Information Management, Master Data Management, Technology, Organizational Change Management, Value Management, Tax, Security & Controls) Largest, most complex programs or a portfolio of large programs Program sponsorship and phase exit approval by an ELT member. Present phase exit approvals and updates directly to ELT staff member Program scope spans across multiple Dell business units (End user, Enterprise Solutions, Software group, Services) Coordinates work efforts of multiple internal Dell teams, and 3rd party consultant agencies and contractors
