Product Management Consultant

The Commercial Client Solutions Group has end-to-end responsibility for defining and delivering the global product portfolio and enabling the sales and channel teams to exceed their Revenue, Unit, and Margin targets. Precision Workstations, Rugged Mobility and IoT Edge Computing are some of our most profitable lines of business at Dell and it provides a foundation on which many of Dell’s solutions are delivered to our commercial customers.

This position is a Product Management role responsible for launching and sustaining the Precision products. We are looking for a candidate that is comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, possesses strong business & go to market acumen, possess entrepreneurial drive, can influence across different organizations and has good communication skills.

What you’ll achieve

As a Product Management Consultant, you will identify new growth areas, technologies and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market analysis to optimize existing products/solutions and build next generation products, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to build a product road map and align product strategies for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive business decisions, marketing launch deliverables, and product updates with the cross-functional development team to ensure successful product launches

  • Prepare the launch strategy for the product with activities including promotion, placement, pricing guidance, sales and partner training, internal readiness, supply and ramp plans,onlinereadiness and more

  • Develop differentiated product value proposition & messaging input.

  • Ensures that product/solution features and specifications reflect customer requirements

  • Drive go-to-market activities with messaging and regional marketing teamsto drive pipeline growth and maturity

  • Manage cost and competitive positioning for product segment, update product plan based on market changes and technology availability.

  • Track global product revenue, unit, and margin attainment and work with regional marketing teams to drive success

  • Drive lifecycle roadmap for product enhancements and end of life planning

  • Ensure product is retired with minimal excess inventory or margin erosion as new replacement products launch while maintaining appropriate transition timelines

  • Work withproduct planningto add any needed mid-life features as well as help to define successor products

  • Help sales and partners with customer briefings. Work with press and analysts to promote the portfolio in the marketplace

Desirable Requirements

  • MBA degree and 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Product marketing,product management, and/or program managementexperience preferred.

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment requiring daily decision making

  • Strategic analysis, business modelingand business case developmentskills

  • Attention to detail balanced with high level process overview/improvements

  • Strong business acumen

  • Ability to work with functional teams includingengineering,procurement,customer experience, quality,operations,finance,sales, and marketing (AR, PR, web, advertising, promotions)
