What you’ll achieve

Ensure our internal audit, risk assessment and compliance of DFS Transactional (Consumer & Small Business) Operations meets regulatory, financial and operational practices. Build relationships with business partners, driving value into their processes by identifying more effective and efficient controls and highlighting opportunities for improvements. Prepare and facilitate monthly governance meetings for the Transactional Operations leadership team.

As a Sr. Advisor Transactional Operations, you will be responsible for regulatory and contractual advice to key stakeholders and teams to ensure compliance with legislatively mandated initiatives from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to Sarbanes-Oxley. Priorities for this role include overseeing the audits of diverse departments, reporting the results to leadership, recommending controls if appropriate, and partnering to automate regulatory checks to ensure our organization is a fully compliant success.

You will:

  • Manage internal financial and operational audits and risk assessments of various Consumer & Small Business operations departments and locations in order to verify accuracy.

  • Assess end to end regulatory business risk and apply Automation/RPA and advanced analytics to limit risk wherever feasible.

  • Anticipate operational, program, and implementation issues and develops preventative measures.

  • Ensure the business executes audits within established business process controls. Develop reports to communicate audit results to Ops leadership and makes recommendations as appropriate.

  • Create and maintains operational scorecards and presentations for monthly and quarterly executive reviews.

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 6+ years leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of risk identification, root cause analysis, developing solutions and recommendations

  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to collaborate across business teams

  • Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Results oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and team player

  • Ability to prioritize with strict deadlines

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to identify required process changes and create or redesign processes

  • Familiarity with process automation benefits and approaches
