Dell Director, Procurement in Austin, Texas

Working in an environment that’s as complex as it is critical, our Buyer team within Materials and Procurement manages a group of indirect categories, such as real estate, marketing material, supplies or software. We use our in-depth knowledge and experience to develop strategic relationships with external suppliers as well as with key stakeholders. Our role also includes leading contract negotiations, managing risk, driving cost-saving initiatives and implementing strategic sourcing best practices.

This role develops and implements Social and Environmental Responsibility strategy and prioritization; ensures adherence to policies governing commitments to Dell's Supplier Principles, employs knowledge of supply chain operations, commodity management, manufacturing and/or procurement activities to evaluate and enhance Dell's SER program effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a 10-person geographically distributed team managing social and environmental responsibility (SER) in Dell’s supply chain

  • Sets and ensures execution of strategies to assess and address risks in labor, health and safety, environmental, responsible mineral sourcing, and ethics practices at supplier sites worldwide

  • Directs development of data management tools to increase programmatic efficiencies

  • Manages regulatory and eco-label compliance in coordination with Legal, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Environmental Affairs divisions within Dell

  • Reports to executive management on SER program status and emerging risks

  • Collaborates closely with Director of Supply Chain SER Operations - based in China - to drive supplier audits, capability building, and other programs

  • Oversees communications and messaging to internal and external stakeholders on supply chain SER strategy, goals, KPIs, and progress

  • Engages with industry consortia to drive initiatives to improve social and environmental practices across the electronics supply chain and to identify emerging risks

  • Collaborates with corporate CSR team on external stakeholder engagement, including NGOs and customers

  • Leads cross-functional Supply Chain governance activities to ensure broad input and adherence to SER policies and processes

Requirements

-Undergraduate degree and 14+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

-4+ years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill (or equivalent experience)
