Senior Level Electrical Engineer
Dell is looking for a Senior Level Electrical Engineer to join the desktop architecture team to create new exciting PC products. Our architecture team thrives on innovation and operates with a wide latitude of design freedoms to implement the coolest and latest technologies into Dell's award-winning products. The desktop architecture team works across product lines to provide class leading PC offerings for commercial desktops and workstations, consumer gaming and all-in-one desktop computers. The candidate for this role requires a high level of creativity, drive, leadership, and design skills. Electrical Product Architects at Dell are responsible for leading and defining the product designs across a large breath of skillsets, including structural, thermal, manufacturing, serviceability, and reliability. This position requires multi-discipline strengths within electrical engineering to lead designs, drive system level decisions, and represent the team at the cross-functional reviews.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to establish product electrical requirements, engineer the product to meet those requirements and validate that the product meets those requirements. This involves working with internal development teams and external suppliers and development partners to develop innovative solutions for PCs, particularly desktops, using leading-edge engineering software, tools and processes. The Electrical Architect will also be responsible for driving others including external suppliers and development partners to deliver robust Electrical solutions.
BS in Electrical Engineering or similar field with 7-10+ yrs experience
Strong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making the proper feature tradeoffs between electrical, mechanical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS
Must have excellent working knowledge of engineering design principles for both analog and digital circuits
Must have experience with high speed bus interface design
Strong aptitude for interpretation of electrical simulations, design, test, and qualification requirements
Driven self-motivated individual that is willing to solve complex problems
Must possess strong communication skills with a high degree of efficacy to navigate and relate to multiple audience levels
Ability work independently and thrive in a diverse, multi-function team environment
Aptitude to assess and optimize program tradeoffs such as cost, performance, quality, and schedule
7-10+ years of experience in product design
Graduate degree is a plus
Prior computer architecture experience
Technical experience in OS integration
Prior experience managing and working with a global engineering team
