From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material and processes. It’s a fascinating field of work. We’re involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property. We lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions. And we work with colleagues across the business to ensure Dell products always lead the way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and influence future mobile notebook products by providing Electrical engineering insight/expertise into the product roadmap.

  • Collaborate with cross functional design and marketing teams to identify new technologies and develop proof of concepts to ensure readiness for implementation.

  • Incubate, Develop, Prototype and Evangelize next generation electrical concepts/designs that meet marketing and customer requirements.

  • Engage/collaborate with ODM partners and technology partners to solve problems and create solutions.

  • Take responsibility for gathering and understanding marketing and customer requirements.

  • Generate IP to protect innovation

Essential Requirements

  • X86 hardware design

  • Ability to read and generate block diagrams & schematics

  • Ability to drive a global core team of cross functional experts

  • A positive can-do attitude to collaborate and excite external and internal teams

  • knowledge of industry CPU & GPU trends

Desirable Requirements

  • Signal integrity expertise

  • High speed interface expertise

  • Analog power knowledge base

  • Masters in EE

  • Electro-mechanical product design experience

Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.
