Dell Event Marketing Manager, Sr. Advisor in Austin, Texas
Dell's North America Event team is seeking a proven event manager and forward-thinker to work with us on key demand gen events. We are a small team who works closely with Enterprise and Client Solutions Sales, Segment Marketing teams, and cross functional organizations to develop and implement events which deliver tangible results such as pipeline, revenue conversion and 1:1 executive customer engagements.
Event Management include:
Working with leadership team to understand company priorities, target audiences and develop event strategy
All planning and logistics associated with event planning
Budget and T&E responsibility
Clear and concise event communication from Executive through applicable Sales organization
Strong team leadership – managing virtual teams and program managers
Strong team orientation – sharing best practices, knowledge transfer and uncovering process improvements
In the role, you will work on highly complex problems; provide insight into the strategic issues which are forefront in the minds of the Executive Leadership Team; gain exposure to senior-level decision-making; and establish relationships across all areas of the company. You’ll also contribute to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.
Manage all events from conception to execution
Provide strategic counsel and event management assistance to internal business partners to ensure that events and programs align/integrate with corporate and segment goals. This includes: strategic plan for event, communication plan for segment and executives, budget creation and approval, content facilitation, logistical planning--3rd party vendor management
Working knowledge within the event marketing industry specifically in the high tech space. Knowledge should include customer events, conferences, direct customer engagements and creation of demand gen programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization, prioritization and planning skills
Experience interfacing with senior level customers
Ability to work independently in order to meet deadlines
Advanced knowledge of PC market and new technologies
Ability to work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 5-7 years of related experience
In-depth understanding of events and event planning and how to tie those to company and business goals, customer requirements, and knowledge of competitor practices
Thorough understanding of Dell business priorities, strategy and direction
Thorough understanding and management of customer business needs and expectations.
Strong project, program management, and execution skills
Ability to work with limited supervision
