OVERVIEW of Role
The Experience Innovation Lab Engineering Technician will support all efforts in the lab. The Technician will support the Lab manager as well as deliver projects requested from the engineers on the team. This will include fabrication, assembly, measurement, and testing of prototypes.
Ability to Self-manage schedule ensuring all tasks are completed on time
Experience with assembly – must able to assemble and dis-assemble protos and production systems for test and evaluation
Experience with operating and maintaining a variety of 3D printers; FDM, Polyjet, SLA, and DLP technologies; Improving printing process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards; Maintain 3D printing equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions
Experience with handling all setups and post-processing related to 3D printers
Experience with providing manufacturing support to engineers with DFM and part optimization for 3D printing
Experience with maintaining 3D printing equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions
Experience with collecting, recording, and transcribing data related to output and efficiency of 3D printers; Flexibility to work around long print times including evening and weekend hours
Assists lab manager in activities including but not limited to: organizing and cleaning lab equipment, ensuring lab compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining inventory
Experience with performing inspection of parts using manual inspection equipment, 3D scanning equipment, and CMM as requested by engineers
Experience with program and setup CNC machines including 3 axis mill, brake press, and laser cutter
3 years’ experience on CNC milling equipment
Programming using CAM software, MasterCAM preferred
3D Scanning equipment or CMM operating experience
CNC laser cutter experience
Metal forming experience on CNC brake press
Cosmetic finishing on metals and plastics using abrasives
Basic understanding of electronics and electronics handling
Experience with soldering electronics and reading simple schematics
