Media Procurement Global Category Manager

A ground-breaking company making game-changing products needs an exceptional supply chain. The media procurement global category manager develops and implements plans to support needs across the media space. We use our in-depth knowledge of supply markets to negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with optimum pricing and terms. We also harness our understanding of category conditions, risk management, and supply chain evaluation models to develop optimal category management strategies.

What you’ll achieve

As a global category manager, you will be responsible for managing the relationship with our senior marketing leadership team and aligning supplier strategy with marketing strategy. The media category is significant in terms of being the largest spend type in the most extensive portfolio at Dell (defined by spend). You will partner with the marketing organization and agency strategy team.

You will:

Develop and maintain relationships with Dell executives as well as senior executives of our suppliers

Own the development and alignment to business objectives of a three-year category strategy and planning process

Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies across the supply base

Integrate deep subject matter expertise with: Industry experience and knowledge of professional standards and trends within area of expertise

Understand the impact of emerging business trends and their implications for Dell and its customers

Essential Requirements

Procurement/commercial experience managing marketing/media contracts

Willingness to have complex, but constructive conversations internally and with suppliers

Effective communication, influence, presentation skills

Project and change management capabilities

Proven ability to develop be an authentic business partner in a global business, building and sustaining trust with stakeholders and the team through genuine relationships

Embraces fact‐based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling

Desirable Requirements

10+ years of relevant experience in media, either a marketing agency, in-house marketing team, or a marketing procurement professional (or a combination across all)

An understanding of the martech landscape and how big data is utilized in media today

Strong work ethic with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and always looking for ways to improve processes
