What you’ll achieve
Working alongside a team of thermal engineers you will contribute to industry leading solutions that enable our customers to do more. You will create concepts and prototypes for future products that are power efficient and capable of supporting a broad range of customer environments.
As a Principal Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing systems and subsystem concepts. You will work with cross functional teams on server, storage, and edge products in the Dell Technologies portfolio.
Evaluate and develop solutions for both air and liquid cooling technologies
Collaborate across other functional engineering disciplines to create feasible product concepts

Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role:
8+ years industry experience + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent and a minimum of a Master’s degree with a focus in thermal sciences or equivalent experience.
A strong fundamental understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow
Experience with electronic cooling solutions, such as liquid cooling, heat sinks, and fans
Experienced in performing thermal analysis, simulation, and experimentation
Clear communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively using collaboration tools, email, MS PowerPoint, and verbal communications
Solid engineering fundamentals including basic knowledge of design for manufacturing and design of experiments
Knowledge and understanding of CFD principals as well as experience with Fluent, Icepack and/or Flotherm is a plus
