Global Operations Principle Engineer

When Dell Technologies launches new game-changing products into the global market, Product Operations Engineering has a vital role to play. The team coordinates all the operational activities that enable products to be introduced and sustained successfully. It’s about making sure there is consistency between production and test environments. It’s about ensuring hardware, software and networking changes are migrated into the production environment in a stable and controlled way. And it’s about creating build processes, coordinating product builds for release into production and setting up configuration specifications for releases.

What you’ll achieve

You will:

  • Lead Operations Engineering with introduction and sustainment of new Enterprise Class Converged/Hyper Converged Infrastructure and Storage, products worldwide

  • Responsible for management and implementation of systems, hardware, software & testing into the manufacturing environment

  • Practical application in basic and advanced problem solving methodologies to obtain root-cause to support continuous improvement throughout manufacturing process

  • Interfaces with internal/external x-functional development teams and leads regional extended teams

  • Ability to manage Suppliers/OEM’s/CM’s from supplier selection, factory bring-up through product launch and sustainment

  • Drives global strategic initiatives/projects supporting manufacturing improvements

Essential Requirements

  • Creates factory strategies/plans for Worldwide Operations based on product plans and roadmaps

  • Utilizes metrics to improve new production/process/product quality throughout life of the program

  • Ensures Operations achieves Ready to Ship Release through product development model/process

  • Drives quality improvements by risk assessment/mitigation eliminating sources of defects in the design, supplier and manufacturing processes

  • Communicate to executives on technical root-cause analysis, program status, deliverables, etc

Desirable Requirements

  • BS / MS in Engineering or Technical related field and 8+ years relevant experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality;

  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical issue resolution through advanced problem solving techniques

  • Program Management, must have managed from concept through final completion with

  • Works in global highly matrix organizations to communicate in verbal, written and graphical formats

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and program/project manage multiple projects / manufacturing related issues

  • Ability to understand Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Tst failure modes
