Senior Advisor, Corporate Development (M&A)

As part of this team, you will analyze technology trends and engage with business leaders to identify M&A and strategic partnership opportunities and help make them a reality.

Join us as a Senior Advisor on the Corporate Development (M&A Strategy) team in either Round Rock, TX or in Hopkinton, MA (Boston, MA area) to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

As a member of Dell Technologies Capital (“DTC”), you will help drive M&A Strategy for Dell and serve as a strategic liaison connecting the business interests of Dell Technologies Business Units with the efforts of Dell Technologies Capital. You will engage deeply with the product, technology, and strategy teams of each Business Unit to help understand long term strategy, product roadmap gaps, and areas of future investment to help develop, maintain and evolve an inorganic growth strategy, including M&A, venture investment, and strategic partnerships.

You will:

  • Develop market landscapes and analyze target companies to support a strategic and proactive approach to M&A at Dell

  • Analyze developing industry trends around markets, technologies, and use cases as well as perform technical due diligence and analysis for relevant DTC acquisitions and investments

  • Participate in strategy, roadmap, and investment discussions within Business Units

  • Work closely with Business Unit Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and Product Managers to evaluate new technologies and startups while serving as the DTC primary point of contact for Business Unit engagement and help provide insight on key technology/market trends

  • Build and maintain a network of contacts, internal and external, to aid in strategy development and target identification

Essential Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience, with at least 2+ years in a technology product-related role (product management, product development, CTO) and 2+ years of business-focused experience including corporate development, corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, or business development

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical discipline; MBA preferred but not required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on executive presence and the ability to influence and work independently with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to synthesize findings

  • Knowledgeable in (or able to quickly learn) broad set of technology areas including cloud, containers, SaaS, dev-ops, enterprise IT hardware, 5G/Telco, Edge computing, data management, and client/consumer devices
