Key Responsibilities

Our customers’ system requirements are usually highly complex. Bringing together hardware and software systems design, Systems Development Engineering operates at the very cutting edge of technology to meet them. We design and develop the next generation of Infrastructure for the Datacenter.

This is an exciting newly created opportunity for a senior Leader to drive our Engineering development of NAND Flash leveraged technologies to improve Dell’s product portfolio and increase Dell’s value proposition to our customers. This resource should bring their expertise and have a successful record of developing and delivering engineered systems to market, as well as knowledge of the operations and management of global Engineering organizations.

You will:

  • Understand the vast enterprise storage technology landscape, including current and emerging trends in the Enterprise Solid State Drive (SSD) industry and associated NAND based storage technologies.

  • Strong understanding of the NVME/PCIe Storage Interface

  • Work closely across many engineering functions, including the core software, hardware and operations groups, to design, develop and deliver next generation storage capabilities that leverage NAND technology.

  • Track and resolve technical issues and information requests on behalf of the cross-functional Engineering Team and Engineering Leadership

  • Support Leadership with Technical Readouts, Program Status Presentations and Technical Recommendations

  • Frequent interface and be the face of SPE at high profile executive forums such as Executive Program Reviews (EPRs).

  • Lead crisp executive and senior leadership communications to drive decisions, status and outcomes.

  • Deliver successful customer integrations, qualifications and adoptions of our next generation storage capabilities that leverage NAND technology

  • Drive and communicate priorities within all SIS functional groups in alignment to those of the product offering delivery team.

  • Drive NPI program deliverables across the PSE organization to align with new program release requirements per Dell’s lifecycle process.

  • Interface with all functional organizations such as manufacturing, product validation and corporate qualification in driving deliverables aligned to the priorities of the product offering.

  • Monitors practice job performance and provides coaching, counseling, and motivation to maximize practice performance for Engineering team members

  • Recruits and hires employees and develops highly successful teams that can help grow and drive Dell's business strategy

  • Driving management of high-performance delivery teams for customized engagements that may include customer resources, partners, and Dell internal resources

  • Leverages customer experiences and technical expertise to input, develop, drive and articulate solutions to broader Dell community

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in the embedded storage industry with a proven track record of delivering product offerings to market.

  • Significant Industry experience with designing and delivering NAND based storage technologies to customers.

  • Team leader with inspiring productive engagement with internal and external functional groups and team members

  • Ability to influence others to achieve results, effective negotiating skills to drive strategic decisions through difficult discussions

  • Typically requires 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to foresee and formulate required steps by internal and external stakeholder and unblock issues in the way of program progress.

  • Ability to independently drive strategic activity with very limited oversight

  • Appetite to lead, be the focal point and the go-to person on complex storage technologies leveraging NAND technologies

  • Clear concise and crisp communication skills

  • Deep Technical understanding of the best practices for designing NAND storage technologies.

  • Proven experience with managing cross-functional teams to deliver on business priorities.

  • Proven experience with developing innovative solutions, systems and products to support organizational objectives
