Senior Principal Systems Development Engineer
What you’ll achieve:
Work closely with other Dell ISG groups, such as CTIO to propose and lead technology incubation and prototype projects that create differentiation and add value to Dell’s solutions in line with customer and industry trends.
Help set roadmap direction closely working with Product Management creating vertical solutions for specific AI/DL use cases in finance, manufacturing, life sciences, automotive, security, logistics.
Inform and influence product groups in adoption of new technologies.
Maintain relationships with partners' engineering teams and track their technology roadmap to remain aware of new developments. Drive integration of Dell products with technology partners’ product to build end-to-end solutions.
Represent Dell in technology conferences, customer briefings, partner forums and other venues to represent Dell, to discuss technology direction and to showcase/present Dell’s AI/DA/HPC solutions.
Work with sales teams on high complexity opportunities to provide technical guidance on system design and help conduct RFPs/RFIs. Work with CoE to conduct technology evaluations that require complex system architectures and benchmarks.
Contribute to IP creation via patents, technical conference publications, participation in research activities working with Engineering and CTO peers
BS/MS/PhD or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics
8-10 years of experience in managing multiple complex development or technology incubation initiatives in the area of HPC, AI and Data Analytics with proven track record of designing innovative products, solutions, and associated processes.
Solid Deep learning background and familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques such as deep neural networks and their use cases such as image processing, natural language processing, speech recognition
Strong understanding of processor architecture and domain specific accelerators (GPUs, FPGAs, AI Accelerators) with hands-on experience in performance, benchmarks, distributed and scale-up/scale-out architectures.
System level design expertise including working with networking and storage technologies, including parallel file systems.
Strong foundation in Linux OS and drivers.
Experience with provisioning tools, hypervisors, containers, systems management tools.
Strong understanding of software tools and middleware used in AI and Data Analytics including but not limited to Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Domain specific knowledge with AI use cases in one or preferable several vertical industries such as finance, manufacturing, life sciences, automotive, security, logistics, etc
Experience with GPU computing and parallel programming models
Programming experience in C/C++, or Python
