Senior RF Services Consultant - Private Networks

The Telco Systems Business Unit creates products and solutions catering to the worldwide telecommunications market, which is exploding with new and exciting opportunities offered by new developments such as 5G, Edge Computing, Internet of Things, Open Architecture, and Virtual/Cloud Native Network Functions.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior RF Services Consultant - Private Networks to join a growing team to deliver exceptional services to the telecom industry and be a subject matter expert leader in the rapidly evolving 4G/5G wireless ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone with a unique blend of technical expertise, operational excellence, leadership skillset, and business acumen with strong communication skills.

What you’ll achieve

This role is seeking an experienced subject matter expert with demonstrated competence with 4G/5G wireless technologies Private Network design, optimization and management. This position requires a unique blend of broad technical knowledge across RAN, Edge, Transport and Core infrastructure as well as various site deployment processes and solutions. As the consultant you will partner with Enterprise customers to define requirements that leverages industry leading technologies, Virtualized/Cloud platforms, and automation techniques to deliver innovative Private 4G/5G Networks and Network Slices. Develop processes, guidelines, tools, KPIs and SLAs to build streamlined Best Practices to improve customers’ network cost advantage by increasing operational efficiencies within their end to end network.

You will:

  • Partner with Sales and Enterprise customers to design and optimize end to end 4G/5G Private Networks and Network Slices in In-Building, Public Venues, Smart Cities, and/or other applications.

  • Run RF propagation analysis and collect field measurements validate coverage and quality requirements are met.

  • Employ advanced design and parameter optimization techniques to achieve desired Network Slice services (eMBB, uRLL, mMTC).

  • Work with tools, process, orchestration and SI resources for the deployment, and management of Virtualized/Cloud native Radio and Private 4G/5G networks.

  • Define and manage Enterprise customer project delivery and Day 2 support.

  • Solve complex problems independently amid ambiguity through requirements gathering, industry research and collaboration with existing assets.

  • Foster a collaborative relationship with vendors and partners to develop, communicate and present architectures, solutions, and strategies to meet the customer’s needs.

Essential Requirements

  • 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience.

  • 12+ years of overall wireless telecom industry experience as a service provider and/or equipment vendor designing, optimizing, and management of the Indoor or Public Venue networks.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences

  • Strong knowledge in RF/Antenna propagation theory and hands on experience using RF Propagation tools such as iBwave, Planet, Atoll.

  • Expert in utilizing network KPIs, field measurements tools, and post processing software to troubleshoot and optimize for improved network service and customer experience.

  • Knowledgeable of Network Slicing, Edge infrastructure, and Virtual/Cloud environments.

  • Knowledgeable of Virtual/Cloud native EPC/IMS/5GC Core network architecture, call flows and services.

  • Strong knowledge of Fault, Configuration, Assurance, Performance, and Security (FCAPS) management for wireless networks in an enterprise environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Familiar with Open RAN specifications and components is preferred

  • Knowledgeable with closed loop configuration automation, SON or ML/AI tools and algorithms.

  • Experience with customer facing Pre-Sales engagements with proven strong executive presence engagement with Top Telecom Operators.

  • Familiarity with various open source and open interface initiatives such as TIP, ONAP and O-RAN Alliance.

  • Program Management and/or Consulting experience.

  • PMP certified.
