Dell EMC is seeking a candidate for a Sr. User Experience Designer/Architect role, to craft next-gen IT experiences in collaboration with the industry’s leading advanced technology CTO group.
In this role you will work among leading technologist to define how sophisticated IT technologies are managed and consumed by tomorrow’s commercial IT specialists. Since you will play a key role in the evolution of Dell EMC, we are seeking usability and design experts to lead research to understand user groups, their tasks, work environments, mental models, as well as the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate will produce User Inteface (UI) designs as part of early simulations or prototypes, through a user centered design process, in close collaboration with SW architects and front end development experts. You will lead + employ various empirical methods and resources to identify and harvest customer/user insights to inform design.
In this role you will need to demonstrate boldness in working with other designers, business & technical leadership, to deliver exceptional and game changing interfaces. You must demonstrate the strength & tenacity that will inspire and guide teams towards this objective by evangelizing exceptional experiences throughout the organization with clear research results and award worthy designs.
In summary, you will play a key role in understanding and driving the key experiences that help create technologies that drive human progress by collaborating with our users, partners, and customers to create new opportunities that solve the problems that we don't yet recognize.
15+ years of industry experience conducting user research using various methods and working in team with developers and designers
Solid knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction, experimental design, observational, and field methods and data analysis
Deep understanding of the Storage, Converged/Hyper Converged solutions and general IT resource management and orchestration
Experience with a broad range of data collection and analytical techniques such as survey construction/analysis, UI prototype development, usability testing, focus group facilitation, and qualitative/observational methods, ethnography, and quantitative statistical data analysis
- MS or PhD in Human Factors, Psychology, or appropriate discipline
We are looking for someone with the following background
Draw insights and opportunities from user research and work with designers to turn them into great user experiences - leveraging user research to inform the product direction will be big wins for users.
Coordinating work on multiple products/releases and managing the work of additional resources
Strong aptitude for learning new technologies a must
Exceptional presentation & story-telling skills a must
