When you’re working in the fast-moving world of technology, product availability is critical – which makes the availability of raw materials for production critical too. Our Material Planning team provides a controlled flow of materials to meet production requirements. We produce detailed schedules, adapting them if necessary to meet backlogs or material shortages, as well as material requirement lists and production plans that balance the demand and supply position of platforms and commodities to optimize product availability and cost. We’re experts at resolving problems with inventory, production schedules or material shortages and recommending procedures to avoid future problems.

This role is responsible for developing and influencing the commodity level demand signal for the Americas Server business in order to optimize product availability and cost. Leverage the Supply Chain design and capability to influence Product Line Marketing and Demand Planning/COC teams towards demand stability and offer solutions to best utilize available supply and mitigate impacts of demand changes. This role also interacts frequently with procurement (WWP) and Product Group (PG) teams to align on forecast changes.

This role will foster strong relationships with the Product Line Marketing, COC teams and WWP teams. It will develop a strong understanding of the Server marketplace, demand forecast creation, demand shaping tactics, product transitions and P&L management. Through this role there is strong demonstration of influencing skills, dealing with ambiguity, and end to end thinking. From this role, candidates can launch and be successful in several leadership and IC roles across the end to end value chain from Sales through Procurement and Ops.

Responsibilities

-Develop demand sensing inputs/outputs to translate customer and financial requirements into actionable commodity level forecasts for Operations and Procurement, which balance customer experience with operational metric

-Develop and execute commodity level product transition plans to effectively migrate through the product life cycle without customer delivery interruptions or excess material supply

-Effectively prepare the Procurement team in developing commodity level capacity and supply plans that meet the prescribed demand plan as well as providing insight for contingency planning

-Govern demand consumption rates and provide early warning and mitigation options to supply issues

-Establish demand shaping programs with Product Line Marketing during times of supply imbalances or when required to meet a shift in the regional marketing or financial plans

-Work supply imbalances, both excesses and shortages, with the Supply Chain and Product Line Marketing teams to correct as quickly and cost effectively as possible

-Develop and implement predictive analytics and forecast methods that suit different types of demand

-Lead management of assigned projects including simplification of current processes, innovation for improvement and KPI achievement

-Coordinate cross functional team members with S&OP content including communication of risk, attainment, liability and supportability

-Creation of executive presentations on performance, solutions and innovations

Requirements

- Bachelors degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of experience in marketing, operations and/or financial management

-Demonstrated data modeling

-Extensive and in-depth knowledge of planning, data analysis and recommendation setting.

-Analytical skills to resolve ad-hoc issues and adjust to the dynamic requirements of our customer and supplier base.

-High level of proficiency in spreadsheet and database analysis tools, specifically MS Access, Excel & PowerPoint.

-Effective written and verbal communication skills.

-Able to work autonomously and deal with ambiguity with considerable latitude to meet and exceed the objectives of the role.

-Team player who has ability to be flexible and develop in the role.

Preference

-Degree and/or MBA in any discipline (Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field).
