We’re in search of an experienced Social Business leader to join our team. The role will serve on the Social Business leadership team, reporting to the Sr. Director of Social Business. The right candidate will be responsible for developing and executing on a multi-channel social media strategy that meets organizational goals to increase thought leadership position while supporting business growth. The ideal candidate identifies opportunities for social breakthrough; establishes relationships across functional organizations; holds team accountable to key success metrics; implements these practices to drive results.
The Social Media director will be responsible for establishing and executing on a multi-channel social strategy that meets organizational goals by bringing corporate brand voice to life via social editorial, blogs and influencer-led properties. Additionally, this leader will be responsible for daily collaboration with PR team for real-time monitoring, planning and executing of appropriate social responses for time-sensitive communications.
Given our matrixed organization and hub and spoke model, the ideal candidate must be collaborative and able to influence others outside of direct reporting chain and across marketing and executive leadership. Looking for a “stuff happens because of me, not to me” kind of leader. And a leader that inspires creativity and risk taking among the team – social is dynamic and fast paced; we must operate that way, too. Using data to inform our decisions and execution.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and establish best-in-class social media and influencer best practices to deliver growth goals
Provides leadership, vision and operational direction to develop and execute corporate organic social media and influencer strategy
Strong communication skills to develop relationships across an stakeholders, influencers and executive-level decision makers
Helps us tell compelling and differentiated stories that resonate with our customers, influencers, press and analysts
Work with creative counterparts to create effective social assets and content, including being at the forefront of what’s next
Understand the competitive landscape – be an expert on how we win in social vs. our competition
Use social listening to inform decision making and share early indicators of trends or potential crisis; partner closely with PR on crisis response and coordinate with paid social decision makers
Be an “agent of change” driving innovative and market disruptive programs
Monitor and socialize plan performance, within established BMS, to key stakeholders (including senior leaders)
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline; MBA preferred
Minimum 10 years of marketing, social media, communications experience
Excellent storytelling, written and verbal communication skills: the ability to speak knowledgeably, clearly and across all levels of leadership
Experience in leading a matrixed organization in a large global company with the ability to influence others
Experience in developing social media, influencer programs and campaigns; knowledge of current and future platforms
Highly organized and successful in making aggressive deadline commitments and meeting them
