Dell’s Client Solutions Group is seeking an experienced analytics Sr. Advisor to support CSG’s commodity complexity management team. The complexity management effort is focused on helping Dell achieve industry-leading product, supply chain and services simplicity, while investing in the right level of complexity to achieve CSG’s business objectives. Under the guidance of the Ops Sr. Consultant, the Sr. Advisor would be responsible for supporting analytical projects related to commodity complexity, as well as helping assess business opportunity in light of cost of complexity and resource constraints. Most activities involve analyzing data to assess appropriate complexity limits and thresholds, analyzing new business opportunities in light of cost of complexity, and assessing resource and other impacts of increasing complexity. In addition to analysis, the Sr. Advisor is also responsible for influencing a broad spectrum of functions and helping support and shape world-class complexity governance processes and tools.


  • Support development of approved commodity limits (ACL) for commodities managed under Complexity Management process

  • Help manage changes to the ACL for assigned commodities.

  • Assess impact of product change requests to ACL and provide Marketing Operations point of view and recommendation based on cost benefit analysis.

  • Influence decision making around good/unnecessary complexity.

  • Support with data pull and analysis for commodity catalog creation, design to leverage and other initiatives

  • Support ad-hoc analytics as requested by Ops Sr. Consultant or complexity leadership team

  • Active participation in ongoing complexity process improvement.

  • Support implementation and evolution of necessary tools and infrastructure to improve team efficacy and business planning


  • Advanced analytical and business problem solving skills, including financial analysis and ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations.

  • Strong verbal and presentation skills and ability to negotiate effectively.

  • Strong understanding of Dell business model and product development process (OLP)

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, ideally product planning or marketing operations.

  • BA or BS required / MBA preferred.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of analytical tools (JMP, Tableau, etc.).

  • Ability to navigate and influence multiple functions (including those outside of PC PG marketing).

  • Ability to translate business objectives to goals and measurements.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to audience needs.
