Maintains enterprise level, VMware systems with respect to integration, access, performance, and security. Troubleshoots complex network, hardware, and software related issues. Applies a broad knowledge of virtualization concepts to support organizational priorities. Promotes team productivity by sharing industry best practices and adopting these approaches. Performs root cause analysis, quickly identifies trends and recommends possible solutions. Present and promote solutions and services to highlight value add.
Configure, manage, and maintain the VMware infrastructure.
Create documentation, perform root cause analysis, quickly identify trends and recommend possible solutions.
Troubleshoot complex network, hardware, and software related issues.
Serve as a primary support and maintenance resource for customers.
Perform required maintenance off hours and support 24x7 operations of a large VMware infrastructure in accordance with established schedules and best practices.
Participate in requirements gathering.
Apply technologies to solve business problems and to develop innovative solutions.
Provide a range of solutions that are easy to consume, appropriately priced and of business value.
Architect and build key components of system solutions and tackle fundamental technical challenges.
Implement enterprise level, secure, resilient systems and tools.
Package these solutions with auditing, security, alerting and high availability.
Present and promote solutions and services to highlight value add.
5+ years’ experience in virtualization technology Including but not limited to the following:
Expert level VMware systems administration in an enterprise scale environment
Expert level infrastructure experience including knowledge of storage systems, virtualization technologies and networking
Knowledge of datacenter route/switch technology, backup/recovery in a virtual environment
Solid understanding of active directory architecture, DNS administration
24x7 on-call rotation with team members
Subject matter expert in scalable VMware solutions, design and integration
Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong coordination and project skills
Strong customer experience mindset, listening, understanding and responding to customer needs
Demonstrate advanced analytical skills by identifying the root cause of complex issues to maintain maximum service availability
Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for enhancements
Build relationships with leadership and cross functional team members to provide an excellent customer experience
