The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.
Work with Microsoft and our System Architects to plan and deliver integrated OS/Software/Firmware solutions on our platforms.
Understand the latest HLK and Microsoft marketing requirements and determine their impact on our platforms.
Create technical documentation of software products/solutions. Assist with the creation, design and review of technical documentation and solutions.
Gather business requirements and participate in product definition and feature prioritization.
Engage in our front-end process and work across the different lines of business to ensure we are exceeding their expectations and needs.
Work with the team to develop, maintain and communicate development schedules, timelines and development status.
Review requirements, specifications and designs to assure product quality and performance.
Bachelors or higher degree in computer science, electrical engineering or a similar field
Experience with Microsoft Windows system architecture and/or internals
UEFI BIOS software development experience
Experience with Intel and/or AMD system architectures
Balance short term versus long term actions, strategic vs tactical requirements, while continuing to align the architectural road map to achieve the strategic vision
Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills and experience in presenting to business and technical teams in an effective and persuasive manner
Familiarity with using the Atlassian suite of tools (BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira and Confluence)
Familiar with various hardware bus interfaces such as PCI, SMBUS, LPC, I2C, etc.
Strong programming experience using languages such as C, C++ or C#
Experience using analyzers and other hardware tools to debug complex system software issues
Experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL). This includes process integration to manage SDL activities within the product architecture, development and production phases.
