Dell Senior Advisor, Pricing in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

To provide daily recommendations and support decisions for pricing tactics/strategies to improve profitability. Be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the business activities to recommend changes to improve business performance.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Principal responsibilities include reviewing and approving all deals that fall below the Smartprice floor, understanding pricing strategies, product offerings, prepare deal P&Ls, business cases, customer profitability analysis, controls, win/loss tracking and contract terms negotiations, assist the Pricing Manager on regional process improvements, regional reporting and ad hoc requirements.

  • Assist in reviewing and approving price proposal responses for Bids/ Tenders, including preparation of deal P&L, review of contractual pricing terms & conditions, identifying and mitigating business/financial risks, price validity clauses, exchange rate impact and prepare business cases that offer solid recommendations to Senior Management for their approval.

  • Track win loss status on bids, provide ad hoc analysis when required by the management.

  • Review and approve pricing submitted by sales team in GOAL Lite/GOAL, our automated pricing tool to ensure deals that are downloading have correct pricing approval based on Approval Matrix. Making recommendations and approvals of pricing request.

  • Announce and release approved regional pricing for all Asia Pacific country by preparing a price book with product specifications.

Essential Requirement

  • Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent experience on related field

  • Must be able to work independently and have sound business acumen, above average skill in MS Excel, flair with numbers, and good negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical skills and sound business acumen

Desirable Requirement

  • Prefer experience dealing with regional offices in sales, marketing, finance, management reporting, pricing or product costing

  • Hands-on, results-oriented and able to work independently

  • Ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines
