As part of Dell Digital’s Application Virtualization Platform team, the Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering work of VMware Horizon and Citrix XenApp & Netscaler, deploying large scale enterprise application virtualization environment. This individual will be operating within a dynamic, fast-paced, and agile IT development environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Day-to-day engineering work and innovation of application virtualization farm (VMware Horizon and Citrix XenApp & Netscaler), with experience in deploying large scale enterprise application virtualization environment
Develops technical standards to support and operate technologies within the current or future application virtualization platform
Performs daily system monitoring and capacity management to ensure optimum performance: verifying the integrity and availability of all services, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
Participates in a variety of engineering-related projects including but not limited to: strategic engineering planning and road map sessions, research & development, proof of concept evaluations, business requirements gathering and assessment for mapping to technical capabilities and solutions
Business Continuity planning and simulation testing
Ensures systems high availability and compliance through the use of internal and external resources
Provides consultation on system maintenance requirements and risk assessment for all supported hardware, software, backups, patch updates and downtime if needed, to relevant audience, management and operations staff
Performs preventive maintenance, tests and deployments
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or
At least 4+ years engineering experience with VMware Horizon and Citrix XenApp & Netscaler platforms
Expertise with underlying Active Directory and Access Management technology
Scripting skills (WMI, Power Shell, Puppet, etc.)
ITIL knowledge and certification
Candidates with large, enterprise environment experience are preferred
