Job Summary: The role will be expected to work in a positive and collaborative fashion with fellow team members, senior engineering/architect staff, vendors, and customers. The Infra Delivery Specialist will assist with process maturation, development, technical standards creation, and drive operational excellence through consistent delivery and best practices. This role will also include the core fundamentals of day-to-day operations, based off the ITIL v3 methodology.
Ability to manage multiple projects, assignments or work load effectively.
Ability to work with Business Unit customers, technical and non-technical.
The ability to know when to escalate a problem to ensure issues resolve in a timely manner.
Good verbal and written communication skills as most of the communication are with US counterparts through emails and phone conversations.
Perform systems/software administration, backup/recovery monitoring, problem resolution, and change management
Apply upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
5+ years of Linux system administration experience with relevant certification.
Strong understanding of I.T. infrastructure and cloud environment
In-depth knowledge of various flavours of UNIX operating systems (Red Hat Linux 80% & VMware 20%)
String experience in Redhat Linux 7.x
Good to have experience in Oracle RAC prerequisite technologies (OCFS), VMWare,
In-depth Knowledge of Logical Volume Manager
Must have experience supporting and maintaining Linux/Unix on HP/Dell/Cisco Intel hardware
Expertise in SAN connectivity for Various Linux/Unix Operating Systems
Experience working on AIX platform with HMC, Power HA, GPFS, Oracle RAC storage disks management and EMC Storage Drivers
In-depth knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Shell) and methodology
Team player, positive attitude, good communicator, friendly personality able to work in a multicultural environment
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred
ITIL v3 Foundation preferred
Redhat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
