About Business Unit:

Dell Data Protection Division team is looking for a Product Technology Engineer who is a Backup and Recovery subject matter expert. This is a highly visible role for a highly technical and creative person that is looking to contribute in a fast-paced environment. You become the voice of the customer and the field and provide deep-knowledge and excellent technical feedback directly to our product management, engineering, marketing and steady state programs. You see the new product innovation before the world sees it and becomes the foremost expert in your role and become the advocate for Dell's products both internally and externally. This individual would need to have extensive experience with creating narrated and click-through (interactive) recorded demonstrations, testing and writing technical solutions white papers in the back-up and recovery business area.

Role Overview

Advise on future product enhancements to PTEs on the team, product management and engineering. Provide technical work direction and training to other staff members and deliver presentations at customer and SE meetings.

Conducts demonstrations in support of the Briefing Center. Develops solutions to complex problems, which require regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Communicates progress toward project/program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop technical product demos, articles, documentation, solutions white papers, technical and marketing presentations, demonstrations, trade show participation, field sales and customer consulting, and customer briefing presentations.

Work closely with the PTE team and translate reports, and findings into technical collateral.

Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.

Provides technical consulting and installation advice for field and professional services as warranted.

Essential Requirements:

Strong skills with creating interactive and narrated demos, writing white papers, and creating technical marketing presentations.

Strong technical skills especially around Data Domain, eCDM, Avamar, and Networker and/or complimentary technologies.

Strong background in VMware products and Cloud services is a must.

Project management skills.

Ability to be a team-player, enable other PTEs and the field as directed.

Possesses strong product/technology/industry knowledge.

Understanding of business environment.

Communication skills.

Presentation skills.
