Dell Manager 2, Software Engineering in Bengaluru, India

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors responsible for validating updates to the VxBlock Release Certification Matrix.

  • Creates a professional, supportive, and trusting environment which allows all team members to thrive and grow.

  • Manages deliverables and schedules for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, and timelines are met in accordance with the schedules.

  • Designs and documents new test cases within our defined framework to ensure quality of the Vxblock families.

  • Collaborates with Software Automation team to translate existing manual test cases into automated tests.

  • Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives.

  • Matrixed responsibilities with other Engineering organizations. Represents the organization on projects.

  • Analyze infrastructure and systems architectures to find areas of improvement.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk of all activities.

  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to upper management.

  • Drives, improves, and optimizes our release process.

  • Works with team members to develop standards for strategy and approach of ongoing deliverables.

  • Evaluate future lab and test environment needs (HW, SW, tools, etc) and manage to quarterly/annual Capital Budgeting accordingly.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience of people management, mentoring, and team development.

  • Experience hiring, motivating, developing, and assessing staff.

  • Proven people leader with excellent verbal / written communication skills and time management skills.

  • Must have strong project management skills and solid foundational knowledge of compute, networking, and data storage technologies.

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality results in a very dynamic environment.

  • Global mind set and ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Experience managing QA teams supporting solution testing in a demanding environment with short timelines

  • Familiarity with fundamental data center infrastructure and tools.

  • Prior experience with test and validation tools/process.

  • Technology focused Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technology related work experience.

Desirable Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering desired or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5+ years experience with converged and hyper-converged architectures.

  • Strong working knowledge/prior testing experience in the following:

  • Cisco Catalyst and/or Nexus Networking Products

  • Virtualization Products

  • Cisco UCS Platforms

  • Dell servers

  • Setting up and managing network storage solutions and data protection solutions from Dell EMC.

  • Expertise with manual and automated test strategies and tools.

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies utilizing SAFe framework.
