Role Overview: Be a trusted advisor to client & strive to build strong relationships within business as well as to promote a true technology and high-performance culture. The role will be expected to work in a positive and collaborative fashion with fellow team members, senior engineering/architect staff, vendors, and customers.

  • Excellent Knowledge of NAS and SAN technology on vendor products such as Isilon, ECS, VMAX3 and SRM

  • Responsible for performing daily operational tasks and maintaining availability at the customer site(s). Provisions solutions based on standardized procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with proven track record of successful incident management

  • Participates in the design and operational execution of the customer's disaster recovery process as required. Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance and necessary data migration, as required.

  • Replication sessions- Troubleshooting if any error encountered on the replication sessions. Establishing replication sessions for new sites.

  • Work within ITIL service management framework (incident, change, and problem management) ensuring that scheduled outages minimize customer impact while adhering to customer SLAs.

  • Perform capacity management tasks including, but not limited to host migration and hardware capacity upgrades; and assisting the Operations Lead and Solutions Architect with capacity planning.

  • Assist Operations Lead and Solutions Architect in planning sessions and client facing meetings including SLA, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.

  • Seeks advice or assistance from management and/or Technical Support as required during difficult customer situations. Works in conjunction with EMC colleagues to ensure effective resolution of technical issues encountered during implementations

  • Assist with project work at the direction of a technical lead and/or Project Manager. May be required to lead small project work on less complex implementations.

  • Mentor junior staff

  • Good understanding of the Operating systems (Windows and Linux)

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • May perform other duties as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Isilon along with support knowledge of VNX File, Unity, VMAX3, SRM, ECS along with CISCO, Brocade.

  • Strong skills and experience in enterprise storage administration – File, Object, Block, SAN Administration;

  • High level of experience and an SME with one or more of the following: Isilon, ECS, eNAS, VMAX, Cisco SAN Fabrics, PowerPath, replication technologies, Solutions Enabler, Unisphere, and SRM.

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

  • Provide on call support.

  • Expert certification in relevant technology /product

  • Presentation and negotiating skills.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Available for 24*7 support shift in need.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment

  • Ability to diagram, verbally articulate technical concepts to customers and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work unsupervised and escalate in a timely manner.

  • Ability to work on customer site, or offsite from different office locations, as required.

  • Understanding of key data center and infrastructure concepts.

  • Familiarity with VMware and virtualization technologies desirable.


  • 8+ years of relevant experience

Desirable Requirements:

  • Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python) desirable.

  • Dell EMC Proven Professional Certifications desirable.
