The Application Modernization practice within the Dell EMC Consulting focuses on developing Cloud Native applications for our key customers.
The Program Manager is responsible for the overall successful delivery of the consulting engagements for DellEMC consulting. This includes mapping to achieve key KPIs such as customer delight, technical excellence and delivery experience for the team. Using a combination of project management skills, industry specific methodologies, experience and system knowledge, they deliver consulting projects through its progressive stages, with the goal of project completion within specified time and budget constraints. Additionally, this role is responsible for creating and supporting the project management governance processes within the consulting BU and deliver business value and project management maturity to the unit.
Relying on extensive knowledge and advanced leadership skills, the Program Manager has the following responsibilities:
Set standards for project management, methodologies, success measurement, and tools for delivering consulting projects in hybrid model (onshore/offshore).
Drive the adoption of tools and best practices for efficient, rapid, and predictable program execution using contemporary tools and practices such as Agile, SCRUM , SAFE
Monitor compliance with policies and standards for optimal delivery
Ensure resource plans, budgets, and schedules for development programs are accurate and realistic.
Execute change management, vendor management and resource allocation program across the consulting unit
Develop and Implement standards for training of project managers
Manage and improve project management systems and reporting to measure and report on project status including: progress, business benefit, expense, overall status and success factors against plan
Manage the risk, issue, and change resolution process and work with other groups/geos/project teams to take corrective action as necessary
Oversee project team members for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within scope and on budget
Partnering with the HR organization, drive talent development practices across the IT team, focusing on attracting and retaining the best talent and resource pipeline in the industry
12+ years work experience in program management and managing large/mid-sized information technology projects through Agile and/or Waterfall
Thorough Agile delivery experience and practitioner/coach.
Project management certifications a plus (PMI, Agile, SCRUM, SAFE)
Exceptional project management skills within matrix environment and a solid foundation in business process management, tool based project management and optimization – excellent understanding of the core competencies: (scope, estimate, time, budget, risk, quality, integration, resource management, and communications
Able to manage cross geo, multifunctional teams to deliver desired outcomes.
Experience managing key customer stakeholders to ensure project and delivery alignment.
Strong industry knowledge of project management principles, but with a demonstrated ability to adapt approaches
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues
Demonstrated skill running effective meetings and getting buy-in and participation from executive leaders
Effectiveness working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives
Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to make data driven decisions and contribute to corporate efficiency objectives
Demonstrates self-discipline and self-motivation in all aspects of job performance
Strong organizational skills
Must adapt to rapidly changing technologies
Interest in expanding one’s knowledge in the technology industry
Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
Experience writing RFPs for large projects
Experience in PM Tools such as JIRA, MS project, Rally.
Strong time management and multitasking skills as well as attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Senior level documentation and reporting skills
Ability to organize and present project portfolio reports, proposals, and other related portfolio information
Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service
Facilitate governance, project reviews, steering, and other project related meetings
Experience supporting a Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Microsoft Office Expertise (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project), MS SharePoint
Good understanding of latest technology trends and ecosystems such as Cloud Native, Big Data, DevOps etc.
Experience delivering technology solutions on full stack app development using microservices on Cloud/PaaS platforms
Able to articulate technology aspects to Senior management.
