Senior Lab Support Engineer, Lab Security Transformation

Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Lab support engineer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of platform services, including, but not limited to : MS Active Directory and Network Information Service (NIS). This is a hands-on technical position, and a deep knowledge of services infrastructure and platforms is crucial for immediate success. This position will be responsible for to assist customers with AD take back activities (eviction) and directory restoration services. This could include both on-premise and hybrid AD. You will also be responsible helping customers implement security assessments against AD. Works with engineering departments to develop successful measurements to establish metrics. Demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative. Performs other duties as required.

You will:

  • Produce enterprise-level designs for Active Directory and Windows File Services for global initiatives following those through to implementation via collaboration with project and support teams.

  • Serves as escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems.

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.

  • Responsible for design and implementation of future infrastructure systems & services and redesign of existing systems and services.

  • Ensure Backup & Recovery procedures & policies are in place and implemented for all Active Directory.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years overall IT experience and 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Identity technologies including Active Directory, Windows File Services, and Group Policies.

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and operating systems.

  • Extensive knowledge of AD and NIS configuration, deployment, auditing and logging.

  • Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high-pressure environment

Desirable Requirements

  • Scripting and automation experience, especially using PowerShell, Linux

  • ITIL v3 Certification.
