Dell Senior Manager, Test Engineering in Bengaluru, India

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

  • Responsible for executing assigned project deliverables effectively and optimally.

  • Manage hiring, staffing and maintenance of a diverse and effective workforce.

  • Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.

  • Responsible for overseeing the execution and reviewing the results of Product Testing and assess all risks and provide mitigations timely working closely with stake holders.

  • Attend core team meetings regularly and contribute to overall business decisions and resolutions for all issues.

  • Develops new test methods and tools to enable solve complex issues and increase the efficiency.

  • Adhere to the BU automation and process goals.

  • Responsible for ensuring highest levels of automation and utilization.

Essential Requirements:

  • 10 to 15 years of testing experience and a minimum of 5 years in a product company

  • 2 to 5 years as a people manager.

  • Experience in the area of System software and understands HW and SW interactions.

  • Should have strong testing fundamentals from a product company.

  • Should have extensively used metrics to evaluate product quality and readiness.

  • Experience in driving test automation including framework development.

  • Experience in building, motivating and retaining high performers.

  • Experience in improving test process and bringing in efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Experience in managing a project lifecycle end-to-end.

  • Have depth and width of decision making maturity. Be able to gain trust & respect of engineering, dependent teams and stakeholders to deliver results

  • Ability to manage and influence team members without direct reporting authority

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment; work with minimal supervision while delivering on action items in a timely fashion.

Desirable experience:

  • Prior experience in System software testing.

  • Prior experience in testing embedded firmware product.
