We are looking for a Quality Software Engineer with experience with hands-on testing experience in manual and test automation. The QA Engineer will work with various IT business segments within Dell to support quality testing of integration services.
Plans, conducts and leads assignments generally involving moderate, high budgets projects or more than one project
Should be able to perform both Manual testing & Automation testing
Manages user expectations regarding appropriate milestones and deadlines
Leads in analyzing project requirements and prepare design documentation
Represents the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership role
Interacts with business users and IT to define current and future application requirements
Serves as technical consultant to leaders in the IT organization and functional user groups
Works with business and development teams to clarify requirements to ensure testability Drafts, revises, and maintains test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts
Performs estimation efforts on complex projects and tracks progress
Works on the highest level of problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents software according to Dell’s systems standards, policies and procedures
Analyzes business needs and creates software solutions. Resolves customer issues with software solutions and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements
Executes test procedures according to software requirements specifications
Logs defects and makes recommendations to address defects
Documents, evaluates and researches test results
Documents, evaluates and researches test results and testing scripts for future replication
Recommends and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies
You will be working with a large, highly skilled team on a critical project.
You will be expected to contribute to design and implementation decisions, take feedback constructively and work towards the common goals of quality project delivery under aggressive time lines.
You will be responsible for writing Functional and Technical Designs/Test Cases for both manual & test automation following Dell Templates, along with all testing matrices.
Knowledge and experience with test-driven design and disciplined testing methodology is essential; this expressly includes generation of functional/Regression test cases for all business relevant code you/team generate.
You must be able to communicate effectively with team members: both core and extended members.
General knowledge of at least one mainstream language, (preferred proficiency in C++ or JAVA).
2.5 to 3.5 years of relevant experience in Software Quality Assurance with a solid understanding of SQA processes of both Manual and test automation.
Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
Execute all levels of testing including Smoke, Regression, Functional, Usability, System, and User Acceptance Testing
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track defects
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
A thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Software Test Life Cycle
Understanding of Testing methodologies and Testing best practices including Test Case Generation Techniques, effective Bug Reporting, and Testing metrics
Test execution in the various phases, logging defects, and tracking them to closure.
Working knowledge / Hands-on experience on test automaton tools such as Selenium, Jasmine, Protractor etc.
Knowledge on JIRA, TFS, GIT repository will be an added advantage
Agile methodology experience - SCRUM
CSTE or ISTQB Certification
Design and executive test plans on web based applications.
Record and document results and compare to expected results.
Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
Experienced in test result analysis, reporting and metrics
Generate historical analysis of test results.
