Localization Architect

The Global Translation team delivers next-generation translation solutions in the effort to enhance the user experience as Dell creates new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop solutions for platforms, applications, and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

Join us as a Principal Software Engineer on our Global Translation team in Romania to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

You will:

  • Drive the localization technology process end to end for all core projects and content that you support. Focusing on execution but also automating manual activities, including troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise in engineering process (builds, tools or processes that do not work)

  • Define strategic and technical solutions to achieve business goals of Dell. Work with internal teams to establish automated connections for translation, detailing requirements, and specifications

  • Focus on building tools and efficiencies that allow all our processes and systems to run on time and smoothly and never allow localization to be a blocker.

  • Optimize Machine Translation engines and Translation Memories (TM). Define future technology requirements, AI/ML best practices, and operational guidelines, with focus on continuous improvement of translation platforms reliability and serviceability

  • Drive research, case studies, and prototypes on leading edge translation technologies and how they can be leveraged. Provide technical support for localization projects

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Localization industry with Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.

  • Extensive knowledge in SDL Translation Management System or other TMS’s and CAT Tools.

  • Extensive technical knowledge of Translation Memory, Localization Tools and Localization Standards.

  • Knowledge of programming languages syntax such as Java, C++, C#, and knowledge of internet related technology (.NET, HTML, XML, PHP, ASP).

  • Excellent communication/people skills including the ability to convey technical information to a cross-functional team including client technical and non-technical resources.

Desirable Requirements
