Field Service Technician

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Taking our technical skills to customer sites, we’re responsible for everything from installation, configuration and integration, through to maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Customers see us as a trusted liaison who can understand their precise needs on a host of admin and technical matters. We also work closely with our designers, solution managers and sales specialists to provide solutions.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will apply technical expertise, peer collaborating, diagnosis tools and analytical practices to resolve customer issues, taking care of our customer IT operations by delivering outstanding on-site support.

You will:

  • Lead the installation service forDell information solutions following predefined procedures and support coworkers with complex deployments.

  • Perform onsite troubleshooting, parts replacement and operating system upgrades.

  • Drive complex problems to resolution, escalate technical issues to senior level technical engineers and engage Global Support when needed.

  • Establish and build positive customer relationships and assure complete customer satisfaction through adherence to Dell Culture Code Values & Behaviors.

  • Stay current with the timely and accurate submission of all associated documentation, time entry and part returns within 24 hours of completing the service.

Essential Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional technical work experience with an Associate's Degree or greater in a technical discipline

  • Experience in a customer facing role and self-motivated your work with passion and enthusiasm

  • Ability to lift to 30-60 lbs. when necessary

  • Responsible for daily travel in a designated territory, participate with Standby On Call, work Overtime when needed, and have a reliable automobile to arrive at customer locations

  • Have a sense of urgency, ability to communicate effectively, and have a keen attention to detail

Desirable Requirements

  • Associate Level Industry certification in Linux, Windows, VMware or Networking
